Pakistan army says pact is for collective deterrence with no regional aspirations
Pakistan's military spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the Makkah defence pact is defensive, intended for collective deterrence and has no regional aspirations. He described it as complementary to the founders' independent relationships with other states, blocs and alliances.
