About Makkah Alliance
Makkah Alliance is an independent, non-governmental research initiative established in 2026. It examines defence cooperation among Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye, and the practical questions surrounding collective defence, institutional development and regional security.
Its purpose is to make the public record easier to examine and to develop research that tests how announced commitments could translate into workable arrangements. The initiative publishes analysis, maintains a source repository and follows developments relevant to the founding states and prospective expansion.
Makkah Alliance is the publisher of this website. It is separate from the defence alliance and the governmental bodies discussed in its research.
Our research focus
The research covers consultation and crisis response, military capability and interoperability, defence-industrial cooperation, strategic warning, accession and the relationship between national responsibilities and collective commitments.
The Institutional Research Papers explore proposed operating frameworks. These papers are Makkah Alliance research proposals; they do not represent adopted government policy or official alliance doctrine.
The Research Library brings together publications, commentary and documentary evidence. The Methods & Sources page explains how that material is assessed.
