Research approach
Makkah Alliance research begins with a defined question and the public evidence available at the review date. Sources are examined for origin, date, attribution and relevance, with links to the underlying record wherever available.
- Research distinguishes documentary facts, attributed statements, reporting and Makkah Alliance’s own interpretation.
- Material claims are checked against primary records or independent corroboration where available. Conflicting accounts and evidence gaps are identified.
- Research separates announced commitments from documented implementation. An announcement does not establish staffing, integration or operational readiness.
- Publications explain the assumptions and limitations of comparisons, forecasts and proposed institutional models.
The absence of a public record limits verification. It does not prove that an activity has or has not occurred. Inferences from timing, conduct or omissions require an explicit evidential basis and consideration of alternative explanations.
Sources & evidence
| Source class | What it establishes |
|---|---|
| Primary / Official Record | The published text of a treaty, decision, original dataset or official document, within its stated scope. |
| Attributed Official Position | What an identified official or institution said. A statement alone does not verify implementation. |
| Verified Reporting | An identifiable published account assessed for sourcing, attribution and corroboration. |
| Research / Institutional Analysis | Specialist analysis considered alongside its methods, assumptions and relevant interests. |
| Makkah Alliance Assessment | Makkah Alliance’s interpretation of the available evidence, with uncertainty and conditions for revision. |
Official provenance does not independently validate every assertion. Several outlets repeating the same originating account do not constitute independent corroboration.
Facts, assessments & forecasts
A development supported by a direct record within its stated scope.
An account attributed to an identifiable source.
Makkah Alliance’s interpretation of the available evidence.
A forward-looking proposition with stated assumptions.
These labels accompany the cited evidence and review date. Proposed models and explanatory simulations are identified separately from official arrangements and measured data.
Review & editorial responsibility
The publisher retains responsibility for research direction, publication decisions and the accuracy of published work. Authors are responsible for the evidence, attribution and reasoning in their contributions.
External review addresses a defined publication or research component. Its scope can include factual accuracy, source use, methods, technical assumptions and analytical reasoning. Reviewer comments inform editorial decisions; responsibility for the published assessment remains with the publisher and author.
Completed reviews are acknowledged with the reviewer’s permission and a description of their scope. Publications identify any review they have received individually. An invitation or exchange of correspondence does not establish completed review, endorsement or an advisory appointment.
Corrections & revisions
Makkah Alliance welcomes evidence-based challenges to factual accuracy, attribution, omitted context and analytical assumptions. Substantive corrections and revisions are identified and dated in the affected publication.
A correction addresses an error. A clarification resolves ambiguity or missing context. An update adds later evidence. An assessment revision changes the interpretation and explains its effect on the earlier conclusion.
Include the publication URL, disputed passage, explanation and supporting evidence in a correction enquiry. Reviews may require further information; no fixed response time is promised.
Revision record
No substantive revision entries have been published in this new central record. This does not assert that older website content has never been amended.
Revision entries identify the affected publication, change date, reason and effect on the findings, with a link to the publication’s own history. Later outcomes are assessed against dated propositions without rewriting those propositions retrospectively.
Citation & reuse
Citation and reuse information covers attribution, quotation and permissions for published research.
